Course Outcomes:

Students will be able to achieve & demonstrate the following COs on completion of course based learning

  1. Use pre-opening principles to deliver quality material for subsequent processes
  2. Apply the principles of spinning to produce the yarn.
  3. Use the yarn numbering system to estimate the yarn size.
  4. Select the relevant preparatory process to produce fabric
  5. Apply the principle of interlacement to produce plain woven fabric.
  6. Use the principle of design to reproduce the textile material

Pre-opening 1.1 Textile fiber: definition, Essential properties and classification. 1.2 Traditional Cotton cultivation and hand picking. (IKS) 1.3 Pre cleaning: objects of pre ginning and ginning. 1.4 Flow chart for carded, combed and double yarn.

  2. * Use carding machine to perform individualization and parellisation of cotton to prepare sliver.
  3. * Use draw frame machine for drafting and atteneaution of cotton sliver.
  4. Use combing machine for short fiber removal.
  5. Use fly frame machine for drafting, twisting and winding process to prepare rove.
  6. * Use Ring frame machine for drafting, twisting and winding to prepare given count of yarn.
  7. * Use the wrap reel and weighing balance to determine the yarn count.

  9. * Use warping machine to prepare warpers beam.
