National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019 Ranking Engineering Top Institute in Karnataka was released by President of India Shri Ramnath Kovind and it approved by the (MHRD) Minister of Human Resource Development
NIRF Karnataka Engineering Ranking 2019 is released in 9 categories which included Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law.

Karnataka 23 engineering colleges got ranking in NIRF rank list. National Institute of Technology Karnataka is one of the top in 2019 overall engineering NIRF ranking list in Telangana. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.
To rank various universities and institutions across the country. The methodology draws by a core committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. Parameters have been chosen in such a manner that these are equally relevant for various kinds of educational institutions.
Parameters Broadly Categorised into five have a look below:
1. Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR)
Ranking weight: 0.30 / Marks: 100
- Student Strength including Doctoral Students(SS): 20 marks
- Faculty-student ratio with emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR): 30 marks
- Combined metric for Faculty with PhD (or equivalent) and Experience (FQE): 20 marks
- Financial Resources and their Utilisation (FRU): 30 marks
2. Research and Professional Practice (RP)
Ranking weight: 0.30 / Marks: 100
- Combined metric for Publications (PU): 35 marks
- Combined metric for Quality of Publications (QP): 40 marks
- IPR and Patents: Published and Granted (IPR): 15 marks
- Footprint of Projects and Professional Practice (FPPP): 10 marks
3. Graduation Outcomes (GO)
Ranking weight: 0.20 / Marks: 100
- Combined metric for Placement and Higher Studies (GPH): 40 marks
- Metric for University Examinations (GUE): 15 marks
- Median Salary (GMS): 25 marks
- Metric for Number of Ph.D. Students Graduated (GPHD): 20 marks
4. Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)
Ranking weight: 0.10 / Marks: 100
- Percentage of Students from other States/Countries (Region Diversity RD): 30 marks
- Percentage of Women (Women Diversity WD): 30 marks
- Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS): 20 marks
- Facilities for Physically Challenged Students (PCS): 20 marks
5. Peer Perception
Ranking weight: 0.10 / Marks: 100
