Course Objectives: This course will develop a student;
- In recognizing the good materials to be used for the construction work
- In investigation of soil condition, Deciding and design of suitable foundation for different structures
- In supervision of different types of masonry
- In selection of materials, design and supervision of suitable type of floor and roof.
- To gain knowledge about doors, windows, plastering, painting, damp proofing, scaffolding, shoring, underpinning and to take suitable engineering measures.

Course outcomes: After successful completion of the course, the student will be able to
- Select suitable materials for buildings and adopt suitable construction techniques.
- Adopt suitable repair and maintenance work to enhance durability of buildings.

Question paper pattern:
- The question paper will have Ten questions, each full question carrying 16 marks.
- There will be two full questions (with a maximum Three sub divisions, if necessary) from each module.
- Each full question shall cover the topics under a module.
- The students shall answer Five full questions selecting one full question from each module.
- If more than one question is answered in modules, best answer will be considered for the award of marks limiting one full question answer in each module.
