Smart Grid to Evolve a Perfect Power System: Introduction, overview of the perfect power system configurations, device level power system, building integrated power systems, distributed power systems, fully integrated power system.

DC Distribution and Smart Grid: AC Vs. DC sources, benefits of and drives of DC power delivery systems, powering equipment and appliances with DC, data centers and information technology loads, potential future work and research Intelligrid Architecture for the Smart Grid: Introduction, launching intelligrid, intelligrid today, smart grid vision based on the intelligrid architecture.

Question paper pattern:

  • The question paper will have ten questions.
  • Each full question is for 20 marks.
  • There will be 2 full questions (with a maximum of four sub questions in one full question) from each module.
  • Each full question with sub questions will cover the contents under a module. Students will have to answer 5 full questions, selecting one full question from each module.
