METROLOGY LAB
- Measurement of angle with the help of sine bar/vernier Bevel protractor.
- Study and sketch of various types of optical projectors.
- Use of comparators for measurement
- To measure the diameter of a hole with the help of precision balls.
- Measurement of Taper by standard balls and rollers.
- To test the squareness of a component with autocollimeter.
- To measure the pitch, angle and form of thread of a screw.
- Measurement of gear elements by using gear tooth vernier.
- To measure the straightness of the edge of a component with the help of autocollimeter.
- Use of linear measuring instrument such as vernior calliper and micrometer.
- Use of height gauge and vernier collipers.
- Calibration of vernier callipers/micrometers with slip gauge.
- Calibration of height gauge/depth gauge with slip gauge.
- Measurement of Thread Parameter by using tool maker’s microscope.
- Calibration of Sensors like LVDT
- Torque Measurement using strain guages.
- Checking of accuracy of a plug gauge with micrometer.
- Measurement of surface roughness of a surface.
- Use of feeler, wire, radius and fillet gauges for checking of standard parameters.
NOTE: Institute is at liverty to develop and conduct practical according availability of items to be measured by the instrument. Every year the items to be measured, shall be chage to perform practical so that the repeatation may be avioded. The student shall conduct and tabulate the experiments individually and teachers will evaluate each student.
