Introduction: Standard Atmosphere, variation of pressure and density with altitude, geopotential and geometric altitude, pressure, temperature and density altitude. Forces and moments acting on a flight vehicle – Equation of motion of a rigid flight vehicle, Different types of drag, Drag polar, Types of airspeeds, airspeed indicator, altimeter, rate of climb indicator, mach meter, Variation of thrust and power with velocity and altitude for air breathing engines.
