1. COMFORT AIRCONDITIONING (08 Periods)

2. AIRCONDITIONING LOAD CALCULATIONS (16 Periods)

COLLING LOAD CALCULATIONS

Design conditions for cooling space, sensible heat gains inthe space:

  1. Heat transmission load through buildingstructure in through wall door and windows, Roof and Floor,
  2. Solar radiation heat lock
  3. Infiltration heat load
  4. Occupants heat load
  5. Electric appliances heat load
  6. Product cooling load above freezing and below freezing
  7. Outside ventilation air load
  8. Other internal heat sources.

Latent heat gain in the space:

    1. Infiltration heat load
    2. Occupants heat load
    3. Product freezing load
    4. Respiration load
    5. Miscellaneous items for latent heat load.

HEATING LOAD CALCULATIONS

Sensible heat loss:

    1. Heat Transmission loss throughbuilding structure
    2. Infiltration heat loss
    3. Productheat loss
    4. Other materials heat loss.

Latent Heat loss:

    1. Infiltration heat loss
    2. Miscellaneous items forlatent heat loss. Auxiliary heat source, Net heating capacity, intermittentlyheat building.

3. AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (10 Periods)

  1. Unit air-conditioning system (Window air conditioning system),Remote and split air conditioners.
  2. Package air conditioning system
    1. Package A.C. with water cooled condenser
    2. Package A.C. with air cooled condenser
  3. Central Air conditioning system
    1. D.X system with air handling unit
    2. Chilled and hot water system with fan coil unit.

4. AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENTS (12 Periods)

5. EVAPORATOR COOLING (10 Periods)

Evaporator cooling – Thermodynamics of evaporative cooling, Types of evaporative coolers – Spray type, Pad type,Rotating type, Efficiency of evaporative cooling, Limitationof evaporative cooling, Indirector, Modified evaporativecooling system.

  1. Study and use of different refrigeration tools and equipment’s.
  2. Study of open type reciprocating compressor used in a refrigeration system.
  3. To determine the capacity for window type air conditioner.
  4. Proper method of setting and adjusting
    1. Thermostate
    2. low pressure and high pressure cutout
    3. thermostateexpersion ball
  5. Wiring of refrigerator, water cooler, desert cooler, room air conditioner, packed air conditioner, pannel board.
  6. Study of a reciprocating Hermatically Sealed Compressor.
  7. Study of electric controls such as – Over Lead Protector, Starting Relay, Potential Relay, thermostat, Solenoil Valve, Humidistat, High Pressure Control and Low Pressure Control.
  8. Study of Refrigerator (Vapour compression and Vapour absorption type).
  9. Study of water cooler and calculation of water cooling rate.
  10. Study of different refrigerant flow controls.
  11. To find out bypass factor of cooling coil, heating coil.
  12. Study of desert cooler and find out its humidifying or cooling efficiency.
  13. Study of air conditioning trainer and find out its C.O.P.
