UNIT I:

Vapour/Liquid Equilibrium Introduction: The nature of equilibrium, the Phase Rule, Duhems Theorem, VLE: Qualitative behaviour, Simple models for vapour/liquid equilibrium, VLE by modified Raoults Law, VLE from K- value correlations.

UNIT II:

Solution Thermodynamics Theory: Fundamental property relation, The chemical potential and phase equilibria, Partial properties, Ideal gas mixtures, Fugacity and fugacity coefficient.
