- Underground mine safety practices: Taking instruction from safety officer Recording the safety practices to be followed in mine. Recording Don’ts and Do’s/ SOP followed in variousmining
- Collection of general information of underground mine like: Name of the Mine Name of the Owner Name of the project officer / manager Duration of training Nature of training Location of Mine Mode of entry – there number and
- Collection of information related to geology of the underground mine. Bore hole section, showing different strata overlying the seam Depth of the seam from surface Number of coal seam & their average thickness. - Collection of information related to drilling work in underground mine: Name of drilling machine and its specification voltage rating, type of motor used, pilot circuit for operation its importance. No. of holes drilled on face with size of face width x height.

Study of following blasting tools. Exploder – its name, type – magneto or battery condenser capacity in terms of round it can blast at a time, operating details – direction of key Circuit tester for continuity, crimper, Scraper, Crack detector, Stemming rod Powder factor and Detonator factor.
- Collection of the information regarding various type of underground mine support: Name of support – prop / chock / cog / cross-bar / safari support / roof stitching / roof bolting / friction prop / hydraulic prop / brick walling / any other type. Type of support – permanent / semi permanent / temporary Method of erecting each type of support. Load bearing capacity of support – in case of hydraulic support i) Yield load and ii) Setting load.
