Course Outcomes:
Students will be able to achieve & demonstrate the following COs on completion of course based learning
- Apply basic concepts of Architectural Design for the given project.
- Prepare Architectural Drawings for the given project.
- Present reports on Case Study and Site Visit undertaken during the course.
- Prepare drawings for the given project using CAD Software.
Unit I
Basics of Architectural Design 1.1 Principles of Design – Pattern, Contrast, Emphasis, Balance, Scale, Harmony, Rhythm Movement and Unity 1.2 Elements of Design – Line, Volume, Form Shape, Texture, Colour, Value, Space and Light 1.3 Scale for the architectural design -Different types of scale, Criteria for proper selection for scale to be adopted for a drawing 1.4 Read and interpretation of Architectural Drawings, visualization of Architectural Drawings in three dimensions along with scale and proportion. 1.5 Human Scale and proportion and their relationship with space.
