Suggested Micro Project / Assignment

Micro project

  • Raw Material: Collect information (specifications, rates, terms and conditions, discounts, addresses) of raw materials manufacturers and suppliers of any two polymer materials manufacturing. Make class presentation
  • Material Preparation: Prepare any two thermosetting materials in the laboratory
  • Flow sheet: Prepare flow sheet for manufacturing of any two polymers
  • Model making: Prepare models of structure of polymers. (at least five polymers)
  • Report writing: Prepare a report on applications of engineering polymers by using internet and journals

Assignment

  • Collect samples of thermosetting polymer materials from surrounding places and make a chart with their properties and applications
  • Prepare a chart for abbreviations for polymer materials
  • Gather the information of polymer materials manufacturer and suppliers (grades, rates, minimum quantity, bulk discounts, taxes, delivery period etc.).
  • Visit an existing polymer material supplier/shop and collect information of registration procedure, plant layout, material data sheet, order size, commissions, manufacturer’s details and price, manpower requirement, rate list, annual turnover, major clients and terms and conditions.
