I m really confused right now as i am working in ongc but i smtimes feels that this is not for me so i was thinking to apply for m.tech in iisc but all the people around me says that dont leave bcoz it is a government job.plus ongc has got facilities and a good salary so i m confused what to choose a highly paid labor job or a less paid job of a professor.plz help this dilemma is killing me.

Sir i did my btech from a private college. prepared for gate for 1 year end up not qualifying it, now should i take admission in a state gov university for mtech? If yes then what are the other carrier options after that please give me suggestions.

if i get good mrks in gate and then i have 2 options – do m.tech from iits or choose a very known psu so what is good option for me???

Hi I am Abdullah .my age is 24 yr 2 months and I have interest to do m.tech
Coming to my background I completed my b.tech from CSE field in 2013 .gem 2013 December to current date I am working
.there came a huge gap of 3 year and I want to study further .I am getting the feeling of myself feeling old .this itself discouraging me. As one of ur lecture ” what to choose IISC or IIT ” in that u said m.tech iits students have to compete with b.tech guys .at this point am depressed.as if i get in iits at 26 age .
1i have to compete with student who r 6 year younger
2.at the time of placements ,age will b 28.this s another thing that a disappointingme .

I complete my Btech in 2014 in mechanical stream. I given Gate 2015 and 2016 i scored(gate score) 347(2015) and 417(2016) respectively.suggest me a college to do Mtech?

In reply to Anisa. I agree with you that doing a master degree and joining and teaching is best option. There days there are many M.Tech colleges, even if you cannot prepare for GATE you can just go and join some near ones.

I completed my B.E in ECE in 2009, did technical support job for 3 years after that.
Then later after Marriage and Marital health issues, i had a gap of of 3 years. Now m realising it as a big mistake. Now i have a kid. So now m feeling, instead of these shift jobs, doing Mtech and working as a lecture/ professor is best for me thinking about my life. i am in last year of Mech. Engg. in MIT, pune.
I have got AIR 1087 in GATE 15.
i have analyzed 3 years M-Tech admission data for this rank.
Their are high probability for core branches in NITS (trichy, suratkal) and non core branches (Environmental, biomedical,ocean engg.) in IIT madras and kharagpur.
I may get call for interview admission in IIT madras for core branches but admission is very difficult.
I also have placement of Jindal Steel (package 4.6) .
What do you suggest for me?
Can i get better placements than Jindal from NITs after M tech?
Or i should do job and try GATE next year again…(bcos if i had got 4 marks more my rank would be below 500)

I finished my btech from cse in 2009. I am very much interested in higher studies. Since then I attempted gate twice, while working as a software engineer. But couldn’t get good score. I didn’t have enough time to cover syllabus either. I went through very little portion and attempted exam. Now I have 2yrs experience in Spring, j2ee. Got married and moved to Bangalore. Now I’m in job search but my interest still lies in higher education. Every night before I sleep I feel bad that I couldn’t study. Please help me if I have to go for job or go for gate coaching. My friend suggests me to appear for GRE instead of GATE. Pls guide me

Hello sir… I am final year B. Tech Chem Engg student from MANIT Bhopal. I would like to know your views regarding the managerial or marketing kind of job vs technical job. I am placed in Mirka India Pvt. Ltd. with 3.75 ctc and 2 years bond. The job is kind of technical support in sales of surface finishing products. I don’t know where I can use the experience gained here, as it is not purely technical. For M.Tech admissions, will it be useful to join ICT or any new IIT. My GATE score is 486, marks 46, AIR 1143, paper code CH.

I had a one problem actually i have don my B.Tech KTMCE JNTU (2011) but i didn’t get a job as a fresherly that’s why after one year i realised better to do M.Tech now i am pursuing a M.Tech(C.S.E) secondsem in elenki engineering college (JNTU) and as well as par-alley i am doing a job as a non voice but my life time goal is to become a software engineer
please give me some suggestions if i get a job in after M.Tech or not which field is better for me.
