Course Objectives:
- To provide hands on experiments with the basic concepts of Robotic Process Automation Tools.
- To learn how to install Blue prism Community Edition.
- To Develop Bots using Blue prism.
- To learn how to install Automation Anywhere Community Edition.
- To Develop Bots using Automation Anywhere.
Course Outcomes:
On completion of the course student will be able to:
- Installation and Familiarization of Blue prism Community Edition tool
- Develop bots using Data item, Calculation stage and multi calculation stage in Blue prism
- Installation and Familiarization of Automation Anywhere Community Edition tool
- Develop bots using commands like mouse click, String operations, Excel automation, OCR.
Module 1:
- Installation of Blue prism Community Edition
- Familiarization of the Blue prism User Interface components- Home, Studio, Control.
- Familiarization of the Blue prism Interface components- Analytics, Releases, Digital Exchange, System.
Module 2:
- Create a simple process in Blue prism.
- Develop an automation using Data item and calculation stage- Calculate the sum of two numbers.
- Develop an automation using Multi Calculation stage- Perform the operations addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Module 3:
- Installation of Automation Anywhere Community Edition
- Familiarization of Automation Anywhere Interface components- Menu bar, Tool bar, Automate & Manage bar.
- Familiarization of Automation Anywhere Commands
Module 4:
- Develop an automation using mouse click command- Automate task of clicking at a special position on the application.
- Develop an automation using the String Operations command in Automation Anywhere- Task for comparing two strings, Task for replacing a substring from a string.
- Develop an automation using excel automation command- Extract data from an excel file according to some condition and save in another file.
- Develop an automation using OCR command- Extract text from an image or a window.
Micro Project
Students are expected to do a micro project using Blue prism or Automation Anywhere tool during the course for the purpose of continuous evaluation. This experiment shall be included in the bona-fide record.
Example: Extract data from multiple pdf document and store the data into CSV file, Get title of an active window etc.
