MODULE I

  1. Understand the structure of metals
    1. Identify the changes in crystal structure w.r.t. temperature.
    2. Illustrate the cooling curve for pure iron.

  2. Understand the equilibrium diagram (Iron carbon, TTT diagram etc) and heat treatment processes.
    1. Classify the different types of alloys -Solid solutions, Inter metallic compounds & Mechanical mixture.
