The detailed syllabus for Construction Engineering Lab M.Tech 2017-2018 (R17) first year first sem is as follows.
M.Tech. I Year I Sem.
Course Objectives: To impart knowledge on testing procedures for determining the properties of the materials used in concrete making.
Course Outcomes: The learner will be able to effectively use the results of different tests for recommending the materials for making good concrete.
- Evaluation of properties of cement, fine aggregates and coarse aggregates.
- Evaluation of properties of reinforcing steel, timber, building block and tile.
- Variation of workability with time for different grades of concrete experimental observations.
- Experimental observation on influence of following parameters on strength characteristics of concrete ( Some of these parameters may be considered depending up on time)
- Size, shape and grade of course aggregate.
- Grading of fine aggregate.
- Hand Mixing/ Machine Mixing.
- Aggregate- Cement Ratio.
- Coarse aggregate- Fine aggregate Ratio.
- Size and shape of Test specimen.
- Admixtures.
