Advanced Construction Engineering Lab Detailed Syllabus for Construction Management M.Tech first year second sem is covered here. This gives the details about credits, number of hours and other details along with reference books for the course.

The detailed syllabus for Advanced Construction Engineering Lab M.Tech 2017-2018 (R17) first year second sem is as follows.

M.Tech. I Year II Sem.

Course Objectives: To impart knowledge on different methods of mix design and also methods of testing hardened concrete.

Course Outcomes: The learner will be able to correlate the results of destructive and non destructive testing.

  • Concrete mix design by BIS, ACI and BS method-proportioning, batching, mixing, modeling of specimens for compression, modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture-testing of specimens as per relevant codes of practice (Comparative study).
  • Development of correlation between Non-Destructive and Destructive tests using Rebound Hammer & UPV instruments.
  • Influence of following parameters on NDT reading-experimental observations.
  1. Aggregate Cement Ratio.
    Water Cement Ration.
  2. Excess/Deficient Cement.
  3. Excess/Deficient Water.
  4. Aggregate type.
    (Some of the above parameters may be considered depending upon time)
  5. Strain and deflection measurement for a structural member under single point/ two point loading- crack propagation observation. Measurement and plotting.
