Course Objective: The basic objective of the course is to provide hands on practice on various types of unit process industrially important non ferrous metals

Course Outcome: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will:

  • Understand pyrometallurgical extraction concepts like roasting, calcination
  • Realize Hydrometallurgical extraction fundamentals
  • Understand the elctrometallurgical extraction concepts

LIST OF EXPERIMENTS

  • To find the efficiency of electrolytic cell for Cu refining
  • To study the effect of time and temperature on leaching of Copper oxide
  • To conduct cementation of Copper ore
  • Electro wining of a non ferrous metal
  • To conduct calcination of lime stone
  • Study of roasting of Zinc sulphide
  • Study the effect of time and temperature on roasting of Zinc sulphide
