  1. Handson practice on Vernier Calipers
  2. Handson practice on Screw gauge
  3. Verification of Parallelogram law of forces and Triangle law of forces
  4. Simple pendulum
  5. Velocity of sound in air – (Resonance method)
  6. Focal length and Focal power of convex lens (Separate & Combination)(Single)
  7. Refractive index of solid using traveling microscope
  8. Boyles law verification
  9. Meter bridge
  10. Mapping of magnet lines of force and locate null points

Demonstration Experiments

  1. Surface tension of liquid using traveling microscope
  2. Coefficient of viscosity by capillary method

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course the student shall be able to

  1. Practice with Vernier calipers to determine the volumes and areas of a cylinder and sphere and their comparison etc .
  2. Practice with Screw gauge to determine thickness of a glass plate, cross sectional area of a wire and volumes of sphere and also their comparison etc
  3. Verify the parallelogram law and Triangle law
  4. Determine the value of acceleration due to gravity using Simple Pendulum
  5. Determine the velocity of sound in air at room temperature and its value at zero degree centigrade.
  6. Calculate the Focal length and focal power of convex lenses using distant object method , U-V method,U-V graphand1/U-1/Vgraph methods and their comparison.
  7. Determine the refractive index of a solid using travelling microscope.
  8. Verify the Boyles law employing a Quill tube.
  9. Determine the specific resistance of material of a wire using Meter Bridge.
  10. Drawing magnetic lines of force under N-S and N-N methods and locate nullpoints.
  11. Determine the surface tension of a liquid using travelling Microscope(Demo)
  12. Determine the viscosity of a liquid using capillary method (Demo)
