hi sir, I am a student of M. Sc. 1 physics. i want to take addmissiom in M TECH through gate exam. please tell me about the required percentage in M Sc for gate exam. can I also tale addmission the addmissiom in M TECH without gate exam.

Hello Sir

If a student qualified in GATE 2011 then how he can take admission to ME/M-Tech in the year 2012 on the basis of GATE 2011 score? How his performance (i.e. rank, GATE score, etc.) are analyzed with the students who appeared for the GATE 2012 exam? If a student A gets a score 30 in GATE 2012 and his score is less than a student B who appeared for GATE 2011 and scored 31 then how both the students rank are made or compared?

I would like to correct you on your following statement:-
“Mere getting score does not show that its valid GATE score. Your score is only valid when it is above or equal to the score of qualifying marks. For example, if you have 16 marks and the qualifying marks for that year are mentioned as 25, then your GATE score is not valid.”

As per my research on http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/gate2010_website/ and http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/gate2010_website/score.php ;

1) The Qualifying Score is the minimum mark that needs to be secured to become eligible for availing assistantships provided by MHRD, GOI.

2)Some institutions specify GATE qualification as mandatory even for admission of self-financing students to postgraduate programmes.

Hence, unless the colelge specifies on the rules that they have some other provision for self-financed students, the GATE score is VALID for self-financed students.

So please correct you statement or correct me if I am wrong.

My name is Bavanker. In b.tech i have only 58% marks.
I have a gate 2010 score of 298 in PI,
registration number:PI7133225
name of candidate:BAVANKER.P
marks obtained:19/100
gate score:298
all india rank:540
no of PI candidates attended:2928
for this mark in which college i get the seat?
ortherwise tell me what are all college i apply for m.tech?
is the valid score for mhrd scholarship becomes the minimum mark?

Sir, My GATE 2011 mark was 21.67 but the qualifying mark was 22.5.
GATE Score:286
All India rank:24819
Will i get a seat for M.Tech in any of the reputed colleges based on this Gate score or whether this score is completely invalid??.Also if there is a chance of getting a seat based on this score, then plz sir give me some information about the colleges i can apply for..
