Module 5

Cementing -Types of equipment and methods used in cementing operations. Drilling fluid and cement slurry hydraulics.Determination of torque and drag. Calculation of cutting transport efficiency. Placement technique of cements. Gas migration through cement columns. Well cementing – chemistry of cements. Cementing principles – primary cementing, secondary cementing, linear cementing, plug cementing, and single stage cementing, multistage casing cementing.

Course Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the students would have Learned the concepts, applications of drilling fluids and the equipments involved in the cementing operations

Question paper pattern:

  • The question paper will have ten questions.
  • Each full Question consisting of 20 marks
  • There will be 2 full questions (with a maximum of four sub questions) from each module.
  • Each full question will have sub questions covering all the topics under a module.
  • The students will have to answer 5 full questions, selecting one full question from each module.
