<p><h4>A.	INTRODUCTION</h4>
<p>The objective of the project work is to enable the students in convenient groups of minimum of 5 members on a project involving theoretical and experimental studies related to the branch of study. Every project work shall have a guide who is the member of the faculty of the institution. Six periods per week shall be allotted in the time table and this time shall be utilized by the students to receive the directions from the guide, on library reading, laboratory work, computer analysis or field work as assigned by the guide and also to present in periodical seminars on the progress made in the project.

<p><h4>C.	Industrial visit</h4>
<p>Students are required to undergo an industrial visit for period of at least 3(Three) working days, in V semester only. After completion of their visit the reports should be prepared. Each Student should write the report independently in view of his own observation in industry. All days for the visit should be accounted for clearly giving attendance particulars. The concern accompanying staff is to check student presence and access progress periodically

<p><h4>D.	Industrial report</h4>
<p>Students are required to submit a comprehensive report on factory visit with details of the organization where the training was undergone. The comprehensive report should focus on study of plant/ product /process/ along with intensive in-depth study on anyone of the topics such as processes, methods, tooling, plant layout and equipment, highlighting aspects of quality, productivity of the system. Any data, drawings etc should be incorporated with the consent of the Organization. The comprehensive report should be submitted for the end exam for evaluation.

<p>The Project Report should consist of following items.</p>

<li>Methodology/Design/fabrication/Tests</li>

<li>Conclusion and scope for future study</li>
<li>References.</li>

<li>Project reports should be typed neatly in Times New Roman letters with font size 14 for titles and 12 for text on both sides of the paper with</li>
<li>line spacing on a A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm). The margins should be: Left &#8211; 5.&#8221;, Right &#8211; 1&#8243;, Top and Bottom &#8211; 7.5&#8243;.</li>
<li>The total number of reports (Soft bound) to be prepared are</li>
<ol type="i">
<li>One copy to the department /library</li>
<li>One copy to the concerned guide</li>
<li>One copy to the candidate.</li>
</ol>
<li>Before taking the final printout, the approval of the concerned guide is mandatory and suggested corrections, if any, must be incorporated.</li>
<li>Every copy of the report must contain</li>

<li>Inner title page (White)</li>
<li>Outer title page with a plastic cover</li>
<li>Candidate declaration and Certificate in the format enclosed both from the institution and the organization where the project is carried out.</li>
<li>An abstract (synopsis) not exceeding 100 words, indicating salient features of the work.</li>

<p>Chapters(to be numbered in Arabic) containing Introduction-, which usually specifies the scope of work and its importance and relation to previous workand the present developments, Main body of the report divided appropriately into chapters, sections and subsections.<br />
The chapters, sections and subsections may be numbered in the decimal form for e.g. Chapter 2, sections as &#8216;1., &#8216;2. etc., and subsections as &#8216;2.3, &#8216;5.1 etc.<br />
The chapter must be left or right justified (font size 16). Followed by the title of chapter centred (font size 18), section/subsection numbers along with their<br />
headings must be left justified with section number and its heading in font size 16 and subsection and its heading in font size</p>
<li>The body or the text of the report should have font size 12</li>
<p>The figures and tables must be numbered chapter wise<br />
The last chapter should contain the summary of the work carried, contributions if any, their utility along with the scope for further work. Reference or Bibliography: The references should be numbered serially in the order of their occurrence in the text and their numbers should be indicated within square brackets for e.g. [3]<br />

<p><h4>1.	In plant training:</h4>

<p><h4>A.	Introduction</h4>
<ol>
<li>In-plant training means a course of training in any industry or establishment undergone by the student of final year diploma in Apparel Design and Fabrication Technology in pursuance of memorandum of understanding between industry and department of the concerned institute or department can make necessary arrangements in the local vicinity industries to expose their students for industry learning environment.</li>
<li>Industry means any industry or business in which any trade, occupation or subject field in technology may be specified as a designated trade. Establishment includes any place where any industry is carried on.</li>
<li>The period of in-plant training will be the period of one semester term for the subject. The student can be sent to an industry for one day in a week or for fixed term as the case may be. The period of training and other modalities will be decided by the respective department head in consultation with local industry authorities.</li>

<p><h4>C.	Obligation on students</h4>
<ol>
<li>To learn his/her subject field in Apparel Technology conscientiously and diligently at his place of training.</li>
<li>To carry out all orders of his Employer and the Superior in the establishment.</li>
<li>To abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Industry/Establishment in all matters of conduct and discipline.</li>
<li>The student shall maintain a report of their work during the period of in-plant training in a Performa Annexure-1</li>
<li>They are required to complete in-plant training in a given period.</li>
<li>During this period, they shall be familiar with the understanding of the shop process and activities.</li>
<li>The students can be asked to solve the mini-shop problem, which will make them think and try out short experiments as an improvement in the process, tools and equipment.</li>
</ol>
<p><h4>D.	Monitoring of In-Plant Training</h4>
<ol>
<li>The department Head will make the batches in group of students. The faculty will made in charge of supervising and monitoring the activity of the group</li>
<li>The faculty and Industry supervisor will work out a suitable arrangement to review the progress of the work from time to time. The department Head should monitor the progress of in-plant training in association with industry authority.</li>
<li>Every student undergoing in-plant training in the respective branch in any Establishment shall be treated as a trainee. The provision of any law with respect to labour will not apply to such a trainee</li>
<li>It shall not be obligatory on the part of the Employer / Industry to offer any stipend and other welfare amenities available, if any, to the students undergoing in-plant training. However, if the industry desires to do so, it will be a privilege for the students</li>
