Technological advances and their effect on the town; utopian thinking and movements about urban improvement and planning; the concept of neighborhood planning; planning concept and city structure, plan and concept of new towns in India, The concept of ring towns and satellite towns; Delhi Master Plan and the concept of NCR; disorientation of contemporary towns from its cultural context; the concept of conservation; the role of planner as a central figure to understand the present day problems through the medium of the study of history.
