Automotive Fundamentals Overview: Four Stroke Cycle, Engine Control, Ignition System, Spark plug, Spark pulse generation, Ignition Timing, Drive Train, Transmission, Brakes, Steering System, Battery, Starting System.Air/Fuel Systems Fuel Handling, Air Intake System, Air/ Fuel Management LI,L2,L3, L4

SENSORS AND ACTUATORS: Sensors – Oxygen (02/EGO) Sensors, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Engine Crankshaft Angular Position (CKP)Sensors, Hall effect Position Sensor, Shielded Field Sensor, Optical Crankshaft Position Sensor, Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor – Strain gauge and Capacitor capsule, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor, Knock Sensor, Airflow rate sensor, Throttle angle Sensor. Question Paper Pattern:

  • The question paper will have ten full questions carrying equal marks.
  • Each full question will be for 20 marks.
  • There will be two full questions (with a maximum of four sub- questions) from each module.
  • Each full question will have sub- question covering all the topics under a module.
  • The students will have to answer five full questions, selecting one full question from each module.
