Part – A:
Fluid Mechanics
- Determination of coefficient of discharge of venturi meter and orifice meter.
- Determination of major and minor losses in pipe flow (sudden enlargement, contraction, bend, entry and exit).
- Performance testing of fluid pumps (Centrifugal, reciprocating and gear pumps).
- Performance testing of air blowers.
Part – B:
- Determination of flash and fire point of fuels.
- Determination of calorific value of solid, liquid and gaseous fuel.
- Determination of viscosity of oils using redwood, saybolt and Torsion viscometer.
- Determination of carbon residue and moisture content in a fuel.
- Determination of cloud and pour point of oils.

Conduct of Practical Examinations:
- All Lab Experiments are to be included for practical examination.
- Breakup of marks and the instructions printed on the cover page of answer script to be strictly adhered by the examiners.
- Students can pick one experiment from each part from lot prepared by examiners.
- Change of experiment is allowed only once and 15% Marks allotted to the procedure part to be made zero.
- Max. Marks for prt A and B should be 30, 50 marks respectively and for viva 20 marks.
