UNIT I: INTRODUCTION 10 Hrs
Definitions – Sewage, Sullage, Refuse, Garbage, DWF,WWF, Run-off, Peak run-off rate; Define Wastewater – Sources & types; Factors affecting the DWF, Systems of Sanitation -Description, merits and Demerits, Types of Sewerage system – Description, merits and Demerits, Estimation of Peak run-off, use of Rational formula and Empirical formula for computing peak drainage discharge, Concepts of Design period, Estimation of sewage discharge (DWF & WWF) (Simple problems), variation in sewage flow, limiting velocities and its effects.
UNIT II: SEWERS AND DRAINS 10 Hrs
