UNIT-I: ELEMENTS OF FABRIC STRUCTURE 06 Hrs
Yarn count, Thread Sett, Yarn crimp ,Fabric weight, Cover factor, Yarn twist, Weave and its representation, Classification of woven fabrics, Use of the design, Repeat of the design, Drawing-in denting, draft, lifting plan, Types of drafts, Construction of drafts and lifting plans, Methods of indicating drafts and lifting plans.
UNIT-II: ELEMENTARY WEAVES 08 Hrs

Light and colour phenomena, Physical basis of colour. Primary, secondary and tertiary colours, Complementary colour, Colour measurement, Pigment theory of colour, Modification of colours, Colours in combination, Colour contrast, Contrast of hue, Contrast of tone ,Colour harmony, Munsell and Brewster Color Circle. Arrangement of figures: unit repeat, Drop principle, Satin, Ogee, Diamond. Colour & weave effects: Stripes, Dogs tooth, Birds eye, step pattern, shepherd checks, Hounds tooth.
