UNIT-I: WINDING 12Hrs
Winding: Objectives, Yarn faults, working of conventional and modern machine, Types and working principles of yarn clearers, traversing techniques, Types of tensioners – disc, gate, combination and compensation types, guides, types of knots, Drum winding machines, Precision winding and machines, Digicone winding machines.
UNIT-II: PIRN WINDING AND WARPING 08Hrs
Pirn Winding: Objectives – Working of conventional and modern pirn winding machine, latest developments. Warping Objectives – Beam warping machines, Types of creels, automatic stop motions, knotting and auto knotting, sectional warping machine- modern warping machines.

Loom: Types of Loom (Handloom and Power loom), various parts of loom and its functions, passage of material, Drawing-in. Weaving Motions: Introduction to Primary motions, Secondary motions and Tertiary motions. Timing circle of loom motions.
UNIT-V: PRIMARY MOTIONS 12Hrs
Shedding : Types of shed, Shedding mechanisms and its kinds. Cam and tappets. Types of tappet shedding, Heald reversing motion, early shedding and late shedding.
Picking: Types of picking mechanism. Over pick and under pick mechanisms. Shuttle and its types, Early and late picking, Beat up mechanism: Mechanism, Eccentricity of sley motion and its effect on loom working. Factors affecting the sley motion, types of Reed types and Temples.
