UNIT-I: COMBING 10 Hrs
Combing: Preparatory of combing, lap preparation, machines for lap preparation. Combing- objects, importance of combing, operation of comber, combing cycle, types of feed , degree of combing and timing, parameters influencing combing operation, Calculation regarding draft, speed and production, automation, defects and causes in comber, Modern comber.
UNIT-II: SPEEDFRAME 10 Hrs
Speed frame: Objects, working of speed frame, , Designs of flyer, Builder Motion, flyer lead and bobbin lead, differential Mechanisms, drafting systems in speed frame, Twisting and winding, creels and Packages, Calculation regarding draft, speed and production, automation, quality aspects of rove, recent developments in speed frame.

- Each student/group should do any one of the following type activity or any other similar activity related to the course and before conduction, get it approved from concerned Teacher and HOD.

- Make Visit to nearest spinning Mill ,observe , Write layout plan with brief note and submit 100 words of hand written report
- Observe the comber/speed frame/ring frame/Rotor of your institute and study its specifications. List the possible operation can be done on that machine, Submit the written report.
- Compare various Modern developments associated with comber/speed frame/ring frame/Rotor machines by collecting their broachers. Submit comparative hand written statement.
- Write the report on modern developments advanced spinning machines by collecting their broachers.
