(CIE)
- State the objects of ginning. OR Define yarn count and name system used
- Explain with neat sketch roller gin OR Explain with neat sketch Macharthy gin
- Explain with neat sketch working of ERM Cleaner OR Mono cylinder
- Explain with neat sketch working of Auto mixer OR Step cleaner
Model Question Paper:
PART-A 6X5=30
- What are the ginning defects and state remedies
- Define mixing and blending.
- Write a note on selection of fibres for spinning
- State the objects of opening and cleaning
- State major cleaning points.
- Differentiate between high speed and conventional carding
- Discuss the locations where carding action takes place in a card
- State features of modern draw frame
- State lap defects and suggest remedies
PART-B
- Explain with neat sketch McCarthy gin machine
- Explain with neat sketch working of Automixer
- Explain with neat sketch working of blendomat
- Explain with neat working of Step cleaner
- Explain with neat sketch working of ERM Cleaner
- Calculate the production of a single scutcher per 8 hours with the speed of 9″ lap roller is 8 rpm and delivers a lap of 12.0 ounces/yard. Time losses in doffing and other incidental operation amounts to 10%.
- Explain features of carding machine parts
- The production of card per hour is 12 lbs. There are 20 cards that are running to process similar type of material , waste taken at each card is 5 % the hank of lap fed to card is 0.0012, calculate at what speed the 9 inch lap roller of scutcher should run with a efficiency of machine being 90%.
- Explain with Rieter 3-over-5 system of drafting system in drawframe
- Calculate the production per shift of 8 hours of drawframe which is running at 85% efficiency speed of 1 inch front roller is300 rpm, weight of sliver fed is 60 grains per yard, the draft is 6.2 and number of doublings are 6 deliveries per machine
