UNIT I: PNEUMATICS AND HYDRAULIC POWER IN INDUSTRY 04Hrs

Pneumatic power: application advantages and disadvantages- Hydraulic power: mechanical power verses fluid power in Transmission, application advantages and disadvantages.

UNIT II: PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF COMPRESSED AIR 08Hrs

Compressed air, Characteristics of compressed air: Positive and Negative types. Types of compressor: Positive displacement compressor, Reciprocating Piston compressor, Diaphragm compressor, Rotary piston compressor. Drives for the compressor. Cooling of compressor: Fan cooling, Water cooling. Regulation of compressor: – Pipe diameter calculations. – Flow volume. – Pipe length. – Pressure drop. – Working pressure. – Flow restrictions. – Tube connectors.

  2. List out any five hydraulic or pneumatic devices used in industry and make a report of 500 words
  3. Students with team should collect the information on Hydro pneumatic by visiting the industry of tool manufacturing and submit the report with minimum 500 words
