UNIT I: ELECTRO DISCHARGE MACHINING EDM 12 Hrs
Electro discharge machining (EDM): basic principle of EDM, working process of EDM, spark generator, pulse generator, over cut, the electrode (tool), tool material, wear of tool in EDM, wear ratio, die electric fluids, flushing system in EDM, metal removal rate, accuracy, application of EDM, Calculation of spark-gap and electrode size.
UNIT II: WIRE EDM 12 Hrs
WEDM machining principle, on job machining exercises. Fine cutting with wire electrode (Wire EDM), micro hole drilling, advantages and disadvantages. To calculate machining time for WEDM. Simple problems on Machining Time.
