UNIT-I AUDIO MIXING CONSOLES

Stages of recording, consoles functions and formats, analog mixer- input section, output section, monitor section, phantom power, Mic- preamp, input selector switch, insert jacks, input fader equalizer , direct out, channel assign switch, pan pot, aux, additional features in large mixing consoles, Digital mixer- digital mixer features, software mixer, control surface.

UNIT-II AUDIO CONSOLE OPERATION

Session preparation- set up the console and recorder, assign inputs to tracks, set recording levels, set equalizers, recording, playback, punching-in/out, composite tracks, getting more tracks, drum replacement, mix-down, erase or delete unwanted
material, panning, high pass filter, compression, set a balance, add effects, set levels, judging the mix, changes during the mix, record or export the mix, automated mixing, types of automation systems, automated mixing procedure.

Software effects (plug-ins), Equalizer-types of equalizer ,uses of equalizer, compressor- using a compressor, compression graph, attack time, release time, output-level control, Limiter, noise gate, delay, echo, doubling, chorus, flanging, reverberation, reverb parameters, enhancer, harmonizer, vocal processor, pitch correction, tube processor, rotary speaker simulator, analog tape simulator, spatial processor, surround sound, multi-effects processor

UNIT-V JUDGING SOUND QUALITY
