UNIT I: SAND RECLAMATION AND FOUNDRY MECHANIZATION (CO1) 08 Hrs
Sand reclamation – Introduction, Concept, Advantages; Sand reclamation techniques- Dry reclamation-Steps involved in dry reclamation, Drawback of dry reclamation; wet reclamation – steps involved in wet reclamation ;Thermal reclamation, combined wet reclamation plus thermal reclamation

Gravity die or permanent mold casting -Introduction, permanent molds, Cores for permanent molds, Gating System, Comparison of permanent molds casting with sand casting, Applications
