UNIT I: THEORY OF TIME MEASUREMENT 08 Hrs

Introduction to time measurement, Earth rotation, Sidereal day, Solar & mean solar days, Unit of time, Latitudes and National standard times calendar

UNIT II: TIME MEASUREMENT IN OLDEN DAYS 06 Hrs

Electric candle, Burning lenity card, Water bowl, Sun dial, Hour glass.

UNIT III: GENERAL WORKING PRINCIPLE AND MECHANICS OF SIMPLE STRIKING SYSTEMS OF CLOCKS 10 Hrs

UNIT IV: GENERAL WORKING PRINCIPLE OF TIME PIECE 08 Hrs

  1. Each student should submit any one of the following type activity or any other similar activity related to the course and before take up get it approved from concerned Teacher and HOD.
  2. Each student should conduct different activity and no repeating should occur
  1. Each student will select and bring at least one clock. Sketch and label main parts of clock. Run the clock and note down the time in hours, minutes and seconds.
  2. Sketch and label the part of watch, assemble the different parts of watch, list the steps followed for assembling and record the timings.
  3. List the different solvents and lubricants used in industries.
