UNIT-I INTRODUCTION TO PATTERN DESIGNING 6hrs

Tools and Equipments – Measuring Tools, Drafting Tools, Cutting Tools, Sewing Tools, Finishing Tools, Pressing Tools, Different Types of Paper and its Uses – Pattern Terminologies – Grain Line, Trueing, Blending, Bias, True Bias, Ease, Notches, Seam, Seam allowance, Bust line, Waist Line, Construction line, Center front line, Center back line, Dart, Direction of Dart Excess – Balance line terms -Plumb Line, Perpendicular Line, Horizontal line, Right angle, Symmetrical line ,Asymmetric line, , Horizontal balance line.

  1. Each student should do any one of the following type activity or any other similar activity related to the course and before conduction, get it approved from concerned Teacher and HOD.
  2. Each student should conduct different activity and no repeating should occur.
