4. Individual Assignments and Life skills 15HRS
The students will perform ANY ONEof the following activities individually (other similar activities maybe considered) in both the sections
A. Individual assignments
- Collecting Failure data for Leather machines / equipment.
- Study of Hydraulic system for any one machine like – Hydraulic Clicking m/c, Embossing m/c, etc.
- Survey of various syntans used for various purposes – specifications, manufacturers names, properties, cost,etc.
- Study any one type of CNC machining centre and prepare report on tooling and tool holding devices
- For a given type of leather, write a sequence of operations performed by tanners in a tannery. Mention the check-points & purposes of each steps in detail.
- Survey of types of various types of Footwear involving information about construction, design, materials, advantages, end-use and cost.
- Prepare a trouble shooting chart for any physical defect found in a leather sample and suggest remedial measures.
- Survey advantages & disadvantages of products made by DIP & DVP operations.
- Survey of various accessories used for value addition to Leather Garments & Goods.
- Survey on traditional methods followed forthe physical testing of leather.
