1. COLOUR 12 hrs

  1. Introduction and classification of colors – primary , secondary, tertiary, intermediate, complimentary, monochromatic.
  2. Color wheel.
  3. Indentifying cool and warm colors, bright and dull colors.
  4. Study of various color media, their importance uses.

2. Principles and Elements of Design 15 hrs

  1. Principles of Design -Proportion, Balance, Rhythm, Emphasis and Unity.
  2. Elements of Design -Line, Silhouette, Color, Texture and Pattern.

3. Free Hand Design 12 hrs

4. Figure Drawing and Posture 15 hrs

  1. Draw the stick figure using head theory.
  2. Draw the different postures – front, back, side, moving.
  3. Draw the fashion figure of Female and Male (81/2 and 10 head croquis).
  4. Sketching different postures of flesh figures of male and female – front view, back view and side view.

5. Fashion Accessories 12 hrs

  1. Handbags of six different types.
  2. Foot wear of six types
  3. Head gear of six types
  4. Jewellery of set of four

6. Costumes 12 hrs

  2. Each student should conduct different activity and no repetition should occur:
  1. Collection of various of designs and categorize them into structural, decorative, abstract, geometric designs
  2. Visit to a designer boutique and prepare a report on various types of color schemes, motifs & border designs used in sarees & other garments.
  3. Visit to an accessories store and prepare a report on various categories of accessories of Women/ Men .
  4. Collection of various motifs from different eras and illustrate them on women’s/men’s wear of current trend
