Course Objectives:

UNIT- I: BASIC BRUSH STOROKES (6Hours)

Introduction to Drawing and Rendering – Uses of flat brush as a drawing tool — Instructions in holding of brush at 45* – Producing basic strokes to convey thick and thin strokes – Practice of stokes in different angles – Practice of curvilinear strokes. .

UNIT-II: FREE HAND LETTERING (6Hours)

Introduction to Lettering – Proportion of letter forms – Using grid sheets to produce proportionate letters – Practice of lettering – Draw a paragraph of text applying principles of lettering.

UNIT- III: SKETCHING MAN MADE FORMS (12Hours)

UNIT- IV: RENDERING OF MAN MADE FORMS (18 Hours)

Practice of rendering of simple solids in pencil.

Introduction to free hand sketching – Application of basic principles of perspective – Free hand sketching of architectural forms – Appropriate size of drawing (composition).
