Course Objectives:

Section A

Write and execute the following 8051 programs (54 Hours)

  1. Program to ADD two 8 bit signed and Unsigned numbers
  2. Program to ADD series of N, 8-bit numbers
  3. Program to convert two digit Packed BCD to Unpacked BCD
  4. Program to convert Unpacked BCD to two digit Packed BCD
  5. Program to convert two digit BCD to Gray code
  6. Program to convert two digit BCD to excess-3 code
  7. Program to convert two digit BCD to ASCII code
  8. Program to convert ASCII to two digit BCD code
  9. Program to perform two 8-bit multiplication
  10. Program to perform two 8-bit Division
  11. Program to count number of ones and zeros in an 8-bit data
  12. Program to find the smallest number in a series of N byte
  13. Program to generate a specific time delay
  14. Program to find factorial of a number ( less than 5)
  15. Program to arrange a series of numbers in ascending order
  16. Program to search a specified number in a given array of numbers

Interfacing Programs (24 Hours)

  2. Program to Interface Buzzer
  3. Program to interface switch

Few Suggested Student activities-

Example 1

  1. Do Market survey on commercially available microcontrollers in the market and collect the following information like name specifications, Price etc. The student should submit a handwritten report. Documents have to be maintained as a record.
  2. Take Quiz tests / assignments in Microcontroller experiments. Documents have to be maintained as a record.
  3. Do a power point presentation on current topics in Microcontroller experiments. Documents have to be maintained as a record.
  4. Visit YouTube or any other sites on current topics in Microcontroller experiments. Listen to the lectures and submit a handwritten report and a soft copy (CD/DVD)

Example 2

The student can write above programs using C ( any two) and test its working

  1. Give a demonstration of KEIL u Vision software and list its features
  2. Test and demonstrate any one application using the KEIL u Vision software
  3. Develop any one application in Process Instrumentation field as mini project

Note:-The student shall do any one topic in Example-1 and any one topic in Example-2 for the purpose of assessment. The questions set for assessment should be out come based keeping in mind the analytical and creative skills

Student activity: The activity should be graded as
Exemplary:- 5 Marks , Good:-4 Marks, Satisfactory:-3 Marks Developing:-2 Marks, Unsatisfactory:- 1 Mark
