Unit 1 Introduction to geology & Study of earth –
Definition, Identify different branches of geology, Understand the importance and scope of geology, describe our solar system, describe the formation of earth, and identify its parts, measure the age of earth by radiometric dating and understand the typesof atmosphere.
Unit 2 Mineralogy-
Define mineralogy, describe physical properties of minerals such as habit, color, streak, crystal system, luster, cleavage, fracture, hardness, specific gravity, magnetic property, identify the physical properties of minerals such as quartz, feldspar, mica, asbestos, agate, dolomite, fluorite, gypsum, galena, graphite, hematite, magnetite, pyrite, talc, zircon, bauxite, corundum, chromites.
