ELECTRIC FUNDAMENTALS
Definition of Current, Voltage- EMF. Power and Energy definition and their units. study about Meters to measure Current, Voltage, Power and Energy. Resistance, Inductance and capacitance and their properties.
Electromagnetism-Magnetic field, Magnetic Flux, Magnetic Flux density, MMF, Faraday’s Laws of Electro Magnetic induction, statically and dynamically induced EMF, self and mutual induced EMF.
UNIT-II
AC FUNDAMENTALS
Alternating current, amplitude, frequency and time period, Average value, Maximum value, RMS value and Form factor for sine wave, phase difference, definition of single phase and three phases AC Supply, Differentiate between single phase and three phase AC supply, Comparison between AC and DC. Advantages of three phase power over singe phase power.

Binary, octal, Decimal, hexadecimal number systems, Conversion from one number system to another. Binary addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, Grey code, ASCII code, Error detecting and correcting codes.
