UNIT – I Chemicals from methane, ethane, ethylene and acetylene. 14 Hrs

Development of Pertochemical industries – Status in India – Feed stocks for petrochemicals – Purification of gases – Separation of gases into individual constituents by separation techniques- Manufacture of petrochemicals – Chemicals from methane -oxidation of methane – Production of Methanol, Formaldehyde, Chloromethane, Methyl amines – Chemicals from Ethane – Ethylene – Acetylene – Vinyl chloride – Ethylene oxide – Vinyl acetate – Acetaldehyde from acetylene – Production of Isoprene -Ethanolamine – Calcium carbide.

UNIT – II:CHEMICALS FROM C3,C4, & HIGER HYDROCARBONS. 18 HRS
