UNIT -1 :- PRINCIPLES OF MASS TRANSFER 7Hr
Principles of diffusion in fluids and solids – Molecular diffusion – Fick’s law of diffusion -Eddy diffusion. Classification of mass transfer operations – Methods of conducting mass transfer operation – Unsteady state and steady state operations – Stage wise operations – Differential contact operations.

UNIT- III: VAPOR LIQUID EQUILIBRIUM IN DISTILLATION 8Hr
Binary and multi component systems -Vapor liquid equilibrium at constant pressure and constant temperature – Raoult’s law – Maximum and minimum boiling azeotropes – Enthalpy -concentration diagram -Application of Raoult’s law to predict vapor liquid equilibrium and problem in application of Raoult’s law.
