Urban form and Transport patterns, land use – transport cycle, concept of accessibility. Types of transport systems, evolution of transport modes, transport problems and mobility issues. Public Transport: Intermediate Public Transport (IPT) Rapid and mass transport system like MRTS & bus rapid transit. Transport Planning Process, Problem Definition, Solution Generation. [8]

Travel demand: Estimation and fore casting, trip classification, trip generation: factor and methods, multiple regression analysis. Trip distribution methods, modal split, trip assignment. [8]
