List of Experiments:
- To study and test the various parameters such as RF power output, spurious and harmonics, audio distortion and audio response of a Cordless Phone Transmitter.
- To study and test the various parameter such as sensitivity, selectivity, spurious response and audio response of a Cordless Phone Receiver.
- Familarisationwith the physical layout, location of stages, major components, measurement of DC voltages and tracing of signal in Cordless Phone. The students should be required to identify components from circuit diagram with physical layout of corresponding parts.
- To study the working principal of BTS (Base Transreceiver Station) of a Cellular Phone.
- To study the working principal of MSC (Mobile Switching Centres) of a Cellular Phone.
- To study and test the various parameters of Smart Phone and Tablet PC
- To study and test the various parameters such as gain, noise, bandwidth and voltages at different points of a microwave amplifier i.e. travelling wave tube
- Identification of different microwave components such as transistor, diodes, along with the testing of various parameters such as frequency, capacitance.
- To measure the power gain and beam width of a microwave dish antenna.
- Familarisation with physical layout, location of stages, major components, measurement of dc voltages and tracing of signal in a food processor/washing machine
- Fault finding in each stages of food processor/washing machine.
- Familarisation with different controls – temperature, speed, tripping, pressure etc. and effects of adjustment of controls in the performance of domestic appliances such as Oven, Electronic Regulator etc.
- To design and test the various parameters such as audio distortion, audio response, hum and noise, harmonics selectivity, sensitivity of a CD Player.
- To design and test the various parameters and fault finding of each stages in a remote control of T.V.
- Familarisation with all mannual and automatic controls and effect of adjustment of different controls in a Xerox Machine.
- Familarisation with the basic maintenance such as clearing of paper path, cleaning the document glass and the SADH Belt, adding toner and replacing the toner waste bottle in a Xerox Machine.
- Fault finding and correction of each stages of LED/LCD T.V. Receiver.
- Fault detection and correction of each stages of Radio Receiver.
NOTE
Visit to the appropriate sites of Modern Consumer Electronic Service center’s should be made to understand their working. A comprehensive report must be prepared by all the students on these visits, especially indicating the dates and locations of their visits.
Instructional Strategy:
Modern Consumer Electronic Appliances is very important subject and requires both theoretical as well as practical exposure. The teaching should be supplemented by visits to the Modern Consumer Electronic Service center’s and using suitable audio visual aids.
