Unit I

Unit II

Beam design by limit state: Moment of resistance of a beam of rectangular and flange section and their design using limit state, Spacing of vertical and inclined stirrups, Development length of reinforcement, Detailing of reinforcement as per IS-456 and IS-13920.

Unit III

Column design by limit state: Short column under axial loading and uni-axial bending, column with epical reinforcement. Detailing of reinforcement as per IS-456 and IS-13920. Solid Slab design using limit state: Design of one way and two way slab.

Unit IV

Unit V

Water Tanks: Design of circular and rectangular tanks situated on the ground, underground and over head tanks.

Note:
The students should be given a comprehensive problem at the end which requires inputs/knowledge/application from all the UNITs of the syllabus. It may be evaluated as a part of TA.
