<p><h4>Note</h4>
<p>Four weeks structured and supervised, branch specific, task oriented<br />
industrial/field exposure to be organised After IV Semester.<br />
Student will submit a report. There will be 60 marks for this exposure.<br />
These marks will be awarded by project examiner in the VI Semester (Examination marks : 40, Sess. marks : 20 ).
</p>
<p><h4>Field Exposure</h4>
<p>Just after the end of second year examination all the<br />
students will go for an industrial training for 4 weeks. It<br />
will be organised and supervised by the institution staff.<br />
Preferably govt. organisations like Doordarshan, AIR,<br />
Telephone, Post &amp; Telegraph departments &amp; Govt. undertakings e.g UPTRON, I.T.I., B.E.L., H.A.L., C.E.L., be chosen for<br />
the training. Medium &amp; small scale private industries may<br />
also be adopted for the training.<br />
Training unit should in no way be less than a small<br />
scale industry so that the student may get training on<br />
different stages of production, testing quality control and<br />
assurance.<br />
The training report submitted by the student should<br />
contain the following points applicable according to<br />
industry.</p>
<ol>
<li>Name &amp; Address of the organisation</li>
<li>Nature of the industry and its activity.</li>
<li>Date of</li>
<ol type="i">
<li>Joining</li>
<li>Leaving</li>
</ol>
<li>Details of the sections of the industry visited.</li>
<ol type="i">
<li>Name of tools, equipments instruments in use.</li>
<li>Activities of the section</li>
<li>Study of the components, devices used in complete assemblies.</li>
<li>Soldering and de-soldering techniques used in circuit fabrication.</li>
<li>Study of PCB Lay out developing and preparation.</li>
<li>Checking and testing of the components used.</li>
<li>Final checking of the product.</li>
<li>Discription of quality control measures taken in industry.</li>
</ol>
<li>Study and aquaintance with transmission unit used in AIR, Doordarshan and other service organisation.</li>
<ol type="i">
<li>Discription of faults occuring usually and their remadies.</li>
<li>Periodic maintenance schedule.</li>
<li>Major maintenance points in the unit.</li>
<li>Preventive Maintenance steps taken.</li>

<li>To make simple circuit which will demonstrate the use of tranistor as a switch. ( The student should measure Ic and Vce in this circuit when Ib is varied from zero to a maximum value and measures the value of Ib (sat), Ic (sat), Vce (sat) and Hfe (min) for saturation at a given supply voltage and load.</li>
<li>To calculate the values and assemble and test simple transistor switching circuit to switch on a</li>
<ol type="i">
<li>LED.</li>
<li>Relay.</li>
<li>200/500 ma. lamp. (6v/12v).</li>
</ol>
<li>Make a battery eliminator</li>
<li>Make a battery charger.</li>
<li>Fabricate (including making PCB) and testing of regulated power supply (series and shunt circuit using zener diode and ICtype).</li>
<li>Assembly and testing of a two band transistor radio receiver.</li>
<li>Fabrication and testing of any ICs of consumer interest, For example.</li>
<ol type="i">
<li>Fan regulater/Light dimmer.</li>
<li>Timer using IC 555.</li>
<li>Burglar&#8217;s alarm.</li>
<li>Digital clock.</li>

<li>Test and measurement procedure.</li>
<li>Discussion on the deviation of the results from the given specifications.</li>
<li>Estimating and costing with discussion about selection of components from cost point of view.</li>

<p>Audio and Video Engineering is an improtant media of distant audio &amp; video communication. Its finds major application in consumer electronics in the form of B/W and coloured receiver. <li>Familiarisation with the physical layout, location of stages ( transistors, ICs), major components, measurement of D.C. voltage &amp; tracing of signal in Colour TV receiver. The student should be required to identify components from circuit diagram with physical layout of corresponding parts and marks hazardous areas.</li>
<li>Familiarisation with all controls and efects of adjustments of controls on the performance of a Colour TV receiver.</li>
<li>Fault finding in each stage of a TV receiver.</li>
<li>To study the installation process of DTH system.</li>
</ol>
<p><h4>NOTE:</h4>

<li>A demonstration model of a Colour TV receiver should be developed in the lab itself to perform the above related exeriments.</li>
