At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Illustrate functions of PPC and basic concepts of product analysis.
  • Estimate output for a given data using various forecasting methods.
  • Determine the optimal production order quantity for a given data.
  • Estimate the machine output and process capacities in a multi-product system.
  • Solve the sequencing problems for the given data.
  • Estimate the inventory level by various methods for given data.

Production and Operations Planning
Aggregate Planning, Strategies and techniques for Aggregate Planning, Production Planning in Mass Production Systems and Assembly Line Balancing, Sequencing problems such as 1 machine n jobs, 2 machines n jobs and its extension, m machines 2 jobs, scheduling jobs with random arrivals
