At the end of the course, students will be able to:

- Estimate the cutting forces in orthogonal cutting.
- Measure tool flank wear in cylindrical turning.
- Analyze the effect of process parameter on cutting force in milling.
- Determine the MRR and TWR in electro-discharge machine and the wire EDM process
- Perform MIG welding of steel and measure weld dimensions.

- Design of a milling cutter.
- Design of a twist drill.
- Industrial visits to study tool room practices.
At least two Industrial visits should be conducted. Brief report based on the visits should be submitted.
