Course Outcomes:

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Define function of bearing and classify bearings.
  • Identify and analyze failure of bearing.
  • Classify the friction clutches and brakes and decide the torque capacity and friction disk parameter.
  • Select materials and configuration for machine element like gears, belts and chain
  • Design of elements like gears, belts and chain for given power rating
  • Design thickness of pressure vessel using thick and thin criteria
